T-Mobile’s net profit jumps by 10.6% driven by deep discounts

The surge in its profits is even more significant since it had reported a loss of $63 million in the previous year.

With consumers flocking to U.S. telecom giant thanks to its deep discounts, T-Mobile US Inc., the No.3 wireless carrier in the U.S has reported a 10.6% rise in quarterly profits.

It has reported a net income of $479 million, equivalent to 56 cents a share, for the first quarter ending March 31. Incidentally, in the previous year, it had reported a loss of $63 million, or 9 cents a share.

Its revenues have surged from $7.78 billion to $8.6 billion.
